Citric Acid Mono is an organic acid which is produced by crystallization of mother liquor of citric acid solution in between the temperature range of 20 to 25 degree Celsius during synthesis. It can also be used as release modifying agent which improves the release of diltiazem hydrochloride from melt extruded Eudragit RS PO tablets. Citric Acid Mono helps to maintain the stability of active ingredients and can be used as a preservative. It has a chemical formula of C6H10O8 with an average molecular weight of 210.14 grams per mol. The density of the compound is 1.5 grams per cubic centimetre with a solubility in water at the rate of one gram per 100 millilitre at a temperature of 20 degree Celsius.
