Sodium Gluconate is white to off-white granular powder which is an organic sodium salt of gluconic acid. This compound is incompatible with strong oxidising agents which is not considered as hazardous but may result in skin and eye irritation on exposure. It has good chelating property which chelates and make stable complexes with ions that results in prevention from engaging in chemical reactions. Sodium Gluconate has a chemical formula of C6H11NaO7 having a molecular weight of 218.137 grams per mol. It is soluble in water with a solubility rate of 58 grams per 100 millilitre and can also slight soluble in organic solvents like ethanol and diethyl ether.
